Anti-drone meshes (commonly nicknamed "barbecues" or "mangals" in Russian and Ukrainian or "cope cages" in English) refer to metal lattices that surround ground military vehicles to provide additional protection from drone strikes, a practice which became widespread during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Such protection uses a spaced armour approach, and is designed to induce the premature detonation or malfunction of incoming munitions.

This protective system, specifically designed for military scenarios, adopts food-grade 304 stainless steel material, fundamentally addressing the issues of premature aging in ordinary nylon nets and corrosion in low-carbon steel nets.
It maintains stable performance even amid extreme temperature fluctuations ranging from -40℃ to 55℃, perfectly adapting to Ukraine's climatic conditions characterized by severe cold winters, hot summers, and frequent rain and snow.
In response to the tactical characteristics of drones in modern battlefields, this net adopts a passive defense mode based on physical interception, avoiding the risk of electromagnetic interference to friendly forces' communications caused by electronic jamming equipment. It is particularly suitable for deployment in sensitive areas such as command centers, ammunition depots, and field hospitals.
Its modular design supports multi-unit splicing and expansion. The Ukrainian military has already built several kilometers of "anti-drone tunnels" in frontline sections such as Bakhmut, successfully blocking the harassment of supply lines by the Russian military's FPV drones. The surface of the net has undergone a matte finish, which also provides a certain degree of optical camouflage effect and can reduce the probability of detection by enemy optical reconnaissance.
